The Ministry of National Education announced, Thursday, June 30, its intention to file a complaint following a “proven leak” college patent subjects.
According to Rue de Grenelle, the leak was spotted thanks to “photos of subjects circulating on [la messagerie] WhatsApp ». The subjects that have been revealed are those of the events scheduled for Friday, for which the backup subjects will therefore be used. The ministry will also launch an internal administrative investigation.
Some 850,000 candidates began the final college exam on Thursday, working on the French and math tests. Friday, the exam must continue with that of history-geography and moral and civic education and that of sciences (combining the sciences of life and Earth and technology).
An investigation opened in 2019
The Ministry of National Education has already been forced, this year, to use emergency subjects for the general French baccalaureate due to an error in an examination center, where the subjects initially planned had been distributed in place of those for philosophy.
In 2019, an investigation was opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office following leaks concerning the mathematics tests of the general series relayed by private Whatsapp messaging or by SMS. In the process, twenty-one people were taken into custody and four of them were indicted, including two candidates and a supervisor.
