A Judge handed down a conviction against Yhonier Rodolfo Leal Hernández for the murder of his own mother, Mrs. Marlene Hernández, and his brother, the renowned stylist Mauricio Leal Hernández.
This crime took place between November 21 and 22, 2021 in a property located in La Calera (Cundinamarca).
After an exhaustive trial, a Criminal judge of Bogotá issued the conviction against Leal Hernández for the crimes of aggravated homicide and concealment, destruction or alteration of material evidence.
The evidence presented during the judicial process revealed that Leal Hernández supplied his brother nine pills of a sleeping medication, which caused an overdose that left him helpless. She subsequently attacked her mother with a knife while she was sleeping and went to her brother’s room to inflict multiple wounds with two different sharp objects.

In an attempt to cover up his actions, he forced his brother to write a fake note confessing to causing his mother’s death and then taking his own life. In addition, he recorded several voice notes from the victim’s cell phone, posing as her to avoid suspicion.
The Prosecutor’s Office, through forensic techniques and expert evidence, managed to gather enough evidence that points to Yhonier Leal as the only person responsible of these crimes. Traces of blood were found in different places in the house and other elements that incriminate Leal Hernández.
Now, the sentence against Yhonier Rodolfo Leal Hernández will be handed down on a date that will be set by the judiciary, while society awaits justice for the victims of this horrendous act.
