Dayana Emma and Yaneisy Martínez, 22 and 32 years old respectively, are the two competitors of the talent contest “La Voz España” who have kept the Cuban public expectant on all the “shores”, although only one of them has advanced to the most high of the competition.

With a great talent that reaches reality show to stay, the two Cubans delighted the members of the jury, some as demanding as Laura Paussini and Alejandro Sanz.

The youngest of them was celebrated for her “Latin flavor” by singing a “beautiful version of ‘How was’ by Beny Moré”, a classic of the Caribbean nation that she would later complement with the strength of ‘Where is life’.

The girl had already been unsuccessful in the blind auditions, but this time it earned her the second chance that the coaches seeing in her an interpretative power that made those present fall in love.

Alejandro Sanz pressed the button and, like Antonio Orozco and Pablo López, was surprised to see her “on stage again” in the contest based on the format of The Voice, which originated in the Netherlands. After some heartfelt words from the coachesDayana chose Sanz’s team, just like her countryman Yaneisy.

For the latter, the judges did not spare praise or smiles, and from Twitter they also described her as an earthquake on stage singing ‘Who’s lovin you’, by Jackson 5.

The debut of excellence was contrasting with the reality of the girl who arrived in Barcelona at the age of 8, from Cuba. While the coaches They disputed it, they recognized that the Cuban stepped onto the stage with the guarantee of solid preparation. She, however, said that this comes from her cultural heritage and her regular forays into the streets and subway stations to sing.

Cuban Yaneisy Martínez on the Voice Spain

“Well yes, I am Cuban, I came to Spain to look for a better economic and personal situation,” she commented before the Antena 3 cameras, and assured that music runs in her family: “Cuba is all about music,” she remarked. However, she left her cards on the table when she questioned: “Life there in Cuba is very nice for tourists, everything is perfect; But the people who actually live there, I don’t know how they survive, I don’t know… it’s like a jungle.”

Yaneisy has alternated her musical work with jobs as a cashier, but her voice has also reached parties and birthdays: “My daily life is an adventure. “You don’t know what you can find”…, she said in reference to her earnings from expressing art in public spaces.

According to a note issued by Antena 3, this young woman managed to capture the attention of the four coaches of the program, to the point that Pablo López blocked Antonio Orozco so that he could not turn and ask for Yaneisy for his team. Then there was a lot of laughter but the truth is that the dispute, to which Sanz and Pausini were no strangers, was loud when hearing Yaneisy’s first note. After some very favorable arguments from each one, she wanted to be part of Sanz’s team in ‘La Voz’ 2020.

“The best performance of the night, what an outrage, what a voice, what art,” they commented on YouTube.

Later in the contest, the young girl Dayana Emma, who lives in Castellón, left before the cameras of Antenna 3 the fact that she fought all her life to enter the “most important art school in Cuba” to achieve her dream of being an actress and singer, but she finally became disillusioned. Even so, the powerful voice of this girl from Matanzas made her the only Cuban finalist of the most watched show on Spanish television.

“It’s not perfect but it’s close to what I simply dreamed of,” he wrote on his Twitter account. Pablo Lopezwho selected Dayana as a DIRECT PASS to the Directs of #The voice. The format of this program, initially named in English, was created by Dutch television producer John de Mol under his company Talpa Media Holding. Its success has spread throughout the world, thus allowing global talent to be represented, and also making room for those who have emigrated from Cuba.

“The Voice is one of the best things that could have happened to me, for me it is a little sad because my family is not there, but I think it is a moment in which I have to move forward, for and for them,” Dayana said in the Show.

“Now I have the opportunity to make a living from music, which is what I like,” she said and related that she had to return to Spain alone after visiting Cuba for family matters. “We returned to Cuba to see my sick grandfather and my sister couldn’t return because of a paper. My mother stayed to take care of her and I had to go back alone.”

The story of Dayana Emma, who has made her way at will, continues to be inspiring for Cubans from all over the world who are looking for an opportunity on stage. Her own teammate, even though she did not continue advancing in the competition, she can try everything with her conditions: mezzo-soprano with a vocal range of 3 octaves. Perhaps her passing through her show will encourage him to continue creating for what will be her first album.
