Applied in a year with a critically variable climate, BASF’s new product has kept crops disease-free
In its first year of implementation in Bulgaria BASF’s Daxer fungicide is treated on an impressive 2,250,000 acres.
“This is another successful partnership project between us from BASF and you, the Bulgarian farmers. Because in this particular year of 2023, we took the risk of getting enough Daxer in, and you trusted us and treated us.”
With these words, Maria Nedelcheva, the Commercial Manager of BASF in Bulgaria, addressed the grain producers who participated in the 11th National Agro Seminar, organized by the National Association of Grain Producers at the end of November 2023.
Daxer is the third fungicide from the Revizol line after Revistar Flex and Revicare. “We called it the balancer for every technology,” explained the Commercial Manager.
Daxer combines both exceptional disease control and a physiological green effect on crops.
The fungicide can be applied both preventively and curatively. It can be a choice for both first and second treatment.
“The combination of all the advantages leads to what we are looking for: sustainable, stable yields and optimized costs.
What Daxer does is that whether you decide to start your fungicide technology with it and choose it as your first fungicide, or it will be your second treatment choice, either way
the recommended dose is 75 ml per hectare.
It is both agronomically and economically justified,” Maria Nedelcheva pointed out.
The sales manager showed field observations from the region of North-Eastern Bulgaria.
One photo showed a pure green crop of Daxer treated 75 ml/ha wheat plants, Western European selection.
An inadvertent sprinkler miss on the same field shows in the second control photo what would have happened to that block if it had not been treated.
“Preventive use of the product is what we need, because it protects the crops and justifies the investments,” advised Maria Nedelcheva.

illustrations from the area of the village of Dropla.
“We all know that 2023 was particularly favorable for the development of diseases. It started out dry and cold, then it became a wet and cold spring. Then a humid and warm summer began. And so different periods alternated, which presented us with many challenges”, recalled this year’s seasons with an unpredictable nature, the commercial manager.
Again a photograph was shown with wheat from an outdoor demonstration field. Due to the frequent and prolonged rains, the treatment with Daxer in a dose of 75 ml took place when the first symptoms of the disease were visible. BASF’s new fungicide has stopped the disease.
At the end of the product presentation, Maria summed up: “Suffice it to remember that Daxer is the fungicide that is the balancer in any technology because it provides excellent disease protection at an excellent price.”
