“Two active prefects” would have been delighted, on “a private WhatsApp loop”, to Yvan Colonna’s fatal assault in Arles prison (Bouches-du-Rhône) on March 2, 2022. He died on March 21. This is revealed by exchanges made public on Tuesday, on condition of anonymity, in the report of the parliamentary commission of inquiry.

President of this commission on the aggression of Yvan Colonna, the Corsican nationalist deputy Jean-Félix Acquaviva communicated, in the annexes to the report, what he presents as exchanges “between active prefects”, which would have taken place ” between March 10 and March 11, 2022”. These exchanges took place “at the time of the decision to lifting of the status of particularly flagged detainees (DPS) by Alain Ferrandi and Pierre Alessandri, following the fatal attack on Yvan Colonna on March 2, 2022”.

This decision was taken on March 11, after the DPS status of Yvan Colonna, who was serving a life sentence for the assassination of Prefect Erignac, had been lifted on March 8 by the then Prime Minister, Jean Castex, to allow family visits to the hospital. Alain Ferrandi and Pierre Alessandri were two other members of the ” Erignac commando », author of the assassination of the prefect Claude Erignac in 1998 in Ajaccio.

The content of the exchanges

In these exchanges, whose authors’ names have been replaced by the letters X and Y, to guarantee “absolute respect for the sources”, specifies Jean-Félix Acquaviva, one of the authors indicates that “Fernandel kills Erignac a second time” , in reference to Jean Castex’s decision to lift Yvan Colonna’s DPS status.

His interlocutor replies that “M. should resign”, seeming to refer to Emmanuel Macron, whose presidency he describes as “shame and dishonor”. X adds by assuring that “the other detainee”, that is to say Franck Elong Abe who claimed responsibility for the assassination of Yvan Colonna, “only did what the state should have done at the time”, also calling for “a national referendum on the independence of Corsica », as it was « done for Algeria ».

Y calls on him for the resignation of the Prime Minister, believing that he has “betrayed the state”, or failing that, for the resignation of Emmanuel Macron. “It was not worth forcing us to make Erignac rooms everywhere if it is to piss on his memory today”, reacts X.

Darmanin asks for “proof” of these messages

Jean-Félix Acquaviva had already mentioned the existence of these messages during the hearing of Jean Castex by the parliamentary commission of inquiry, on March 8. “Yes, this exchange did take place”, he maintained during a joint press conference with the rapporteur of the report Laurent Marcangeli, explaining that he had chosen to append the messages to the report to “contribute to settling this story “.

In a letter dated April 14 and published by Corse-Matinthe Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, on whom the prefects depend, had asked Jean-Félix Acquaviva “the proof corresponding” to these messages in order “to draw all the consequences”, considering that it was a question of a “particularly serious accusation”.
