Russian actor and State Duma deputy Dmitry Pevtsov unexpectedly criticized the domestic children’s film “Cheburashka”, which collected a large box office at the box office this winter. According to the Rise Telegram channel, the vigilant people’s choice found propaganda of “non-traditional values” in the picture, which is prohibited by Russian law.

“Cheburashka calls Uncle Gena mom. It seems funny, right? And for children this is such a small signal that dad, mom doesn’t matter,” Pevtsov quotes Rise.

The actor added that this effect is prolonged for children and they can understand that a man can be a mother. “These are the bells, imperceptible, as if invisible,” the deputy complained.

The publication asked Vitaly Shlyappo, screenwriter of the film, to comment on Pevtsov’s claims. But he said that “these nonsense are not worthy of comment.”
