The Autonomous Non-Profit Organization (ANO) Digital Economy has developed proposals to expand the responsibility of digital ecosystems for goods and services. This was reported to Vedomosti by a government consultant and confirmed by a federal official. They explained that it is proposed to oblige the ecosystem to control the quality of goods and services, as well as their compliance with the requirements of the Law “On Protection of Consumer Rights”. Rospotrebnadzor is proposed to be empowered to initiate an extrajudicial restriction of access to pages containing information on the sale of products that do not meet the requirements of the law. For non-compliance with the instructions of the department to block such information, it is proposed to impose penalties on the legal entity.
