DJI’s Osmo Action 3 sports camera arrives in Israel, with support for vertical photography

by time news

Osmo Action 3, DJI’s new sports camera will be launched in Israel early next month. Compared to the previous model, which boasted a modular assembly of various components on the camera body, this time DJI chose a classic configuration and also maintains an almost identical photo sensor: a 12-megapixel resolution with a wide lens with a 155-degree field of view. The supported shooting modes also remain unchanged, with video in 4K resolution at a rate of up to 120 frames per second, or 1080P at a rate of up to 240 frames.

In the list of innovations, DJI presents the new electronic stabilization mechanism RockSteady 3.0, alongside HorizonSteady which should keep objects at a fixed angle even when the camera is rotated 360 degrees. It’s also the first Osmo Action camera to support vertical shooting, using a compatible mount in the case.

The small front screen, 1.4 inches, is also a touch screen this time which will make the photo settings somewhat easier. On the back, the camera gets a slightly larger screen, 2.25 inches. The battery allows continuous recording of up to 160 minutes of video, and according to the manufacturer, it will continue to operate without a problem even at extremely low (minus 20) or high (45 degrees) temperatures. Fast charging allows filling of 80 percent of the battery capacity in about 20 minutes.

The Osmo Action 3 is protected against water damage to a diving depth of up to 16 meters without a cover, and the company also offers a diving case for those planning to go deeper. A unique sensor will ensure a realistic color matching according to the depth of the water. The entire camera is protected against falls at a height of up to 1.5 meters. You can connect an external microphone to it, or use an array of three built-in microphones.

In Israel, the camera will be sold in a package that includes one battery, a charging cable and a mount for NIS 1,399. A package that includes three batteries, two mounts, a selfie stick and a case for carrying the batteries will cost NIS 1,899. The expected launch date is October 6.
