An earthquake occurred in Samos at noon on Saturday.

According to the revised solution of the Geodynamic Institute, the earthquake was of the order of 3.5 Richter.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 24 kilometers north of Vathi.

The focal depth of the seismic tremor was measured at 13.5 kilometers.

So far there are no reports of damage or injuries.

It is recalled that an earthquake measuring 4.9 Richter had occurred on January 27 again off the coast of Samos. At the time, the professor of Dynamic Tectonics of Applied Geology and Natural Disaster Management of EKPA and president of OASP, Efthymios Lekkas, had declared to SKAI that “it is an earthquake remnant of the great earthquake we had in 2017. It does not coincide with the fault that produced the great earthquake” .

“It’s a section of the fault to the north. This earthquake does not affect Samos and especially Vathi and the areas that are closer to the epicenter”, added Mr. Lekkas.
