Emergencies Ministry warned residents of Moscow about strong wind

The Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Moscow has issued an emergency warning about strong winds up to 20 meters per second in the capital. The message was published on the agency’s website. Utilities will work in an enhanced mode.

“According to forecasts of Roshydromet forecasters, in connection with the passage of the cold front from 10 am to 6 pm on October 22, a south-western wind in gusts of 15–20 m / s is expected in Moscow,” the message says.

Due to the wind, Muscovites are advised to bypass wobbly structures and billboards, park cars away from trees, and not leave children unattended.

Due to bad weather, Moscow’s utilities are working on high alert, according to the Telegram channel of the city’s economy complex. There are 1,500 emergency teams on round-the-clock duty.
