Energy crisis: the key measures of the government’s sobriety plan

by time news

General mobilization. This Thursday, October 6 in the afternoon, the government will detail its energy sobriety plan so that France passes the winter without electricity or gas cuts. A plan that must be presented with great fanfare for nearly three hours, with no less than nine ministers and dozens of savings measures. It must be said that the stakes are high. It is a question of reducing our consumption now by 10% compared to 2019. Almost fifty years after the two oil shocks, it is the return of the hunt for gaspi, with a very clear philosophy: if the decisions will be for part binding for the State which must set an example, there is no question of imposing these energy saving measures on the French, on companies or even on communities. No penalty is foreseen. The government repeats it, it is about “chosen sobriety”, and therefore appeals to everyone’s responsibility.
