This is a problem that concerns the entire African continent, with very strong disparities between countries and zones: the lack of modern infrastructure and basic equipment which penalizes economic life. Collective commercial buildings, roads, access to electricity, water or even the internet.

However, large-scale projects are being implemented, at the cost of innovative financing. This is the case for example in Ivory Coast. Éco d’ici Éco d’ailleurs first went to the construction site of the new retail and semi-wholesale market in Yopougon, the largest municipality in the country (more than a million inhabitants) on the outskirts of ‘Abidjan. This construction, once completed, will extend over more than 7 hectares and should allow hundreds of traders to carry out their activity in better conditions, particularly in terms of health. She fits into the PAQRA projectan urban renovation project which concerns several municipalities in the country, financed by the Ivorian State with the support of the French Development Agency.
