Petershagen • 30 years ago in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia there were almost no white storks left, so the road to the rare nests of these birds was even marked with special signs for nature lovers: “Storchennest”.

Now the situation has improved significantly. In the region of Minden-Lubbecke alone, more than 110 pairs are hatching this spring. The family life of the local storks was lucky to be observed by a photojournalist of the dpa news agency.
