The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and the Ministry of Digital Development are discussing the introduction of unscheduled inspections of IT companies, despite the established moratorium. About it writes Kommersant, citing its own source close to the government.

In the event that companies leak customer personal data or violate antitrust laws, audits can be carried out against organizations. According to a participant in the telecommunications market, the FAS is already preparing amendments to the resolution on the accreditation of IT companies. According to this resolution, inspections have been canceled until 2024 inclusive.

“The issue of lifting the moratorium on certain inspections of IT companies requires additional justification and discussion,” the ministry told Kommersant.

The interlocutor of the publication in the IT market believes that not only large companies, but everyone in the industry will suffer from inspections. He stressed that during the audit, preferences and benefits for employees, including reservations from mobilization, are suspended.

According to Data Leakage & Breach Intelligence (DLBI), a Russian service for intelligence of data leaks and monitoring of the darknet, in 2022, 75% of Russians leaked their data to the Internet. Over the past week, data from clients of Bukvoed, Leroy Merlin, Yours, We Eat at Home, Ashana, Gloria Jeans, Askona and other companies.
