Fear of inflation and stocks – How investors manage a good portfolio mix

According to a GfK survey, Germans fear the devaluation of their money the most.

Frankfurt When Germans think of crises, climate change, recession or war are not the first things that come to mind. About three-quarters of them are much more afraid of the devaluation of their money, as a representative survey by the market research institute GfK on behalf of the wealth manager Flossbach von Storch among 2,000 people in the Federal Republic shows. The results of the survey from July are exclusively available to the Handelsblatt.

Although most Germans expect that inflation of more than four percent will significantly reduce savings in the next few years, they leave large parts of their capital in accounts where it is shrinking in real terms – i.e. after deducting inflation.
