Massive Fire Breaks Out in Perstorp, Car Company Premises Under Threat

A massive fire has broken out in the area, prompting a warning for residents to avoid fire smoke and to close doors, windows, and ventilation if necessary. About ten units from the rescue services in Perstorp, Hässleholm, and Klippan are currently on the scene, battling the inferno.

When asked about the risk of the fire spreading, Anders Pålsson, officer on duty at the rescue service Nordöstra Skåne, reassured the public that there is no immediate emergency at the moment. Fortunately, there have been no reports of personal injuries so far.

The premises where the fire has erupted houses a car company, and authorities are investigating the incident as aggravated arson. Police spokesperson Richard Lundqvist stated, “The reason for the categorization is that it is about such large values. There is nothing that concretely suggests that it has been planted right now.”

The alarm about the fire came just before half past nine on Sunday evening, and the situation is currently ongoing. Authorities are working tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent further damage to the area. Updates on the situation are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
