The first meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the 12th National Parliament was held.
On Thursday (March 7) at Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan, the committee member and Minister of Religion Md. Mohammad Hushamuddin Chowdhury MP chaired the meeting. Faridul Haque Khan MP, HM Ibrahim MP and Md. Rashiduzzaman MP participated.
The meeting started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. In the meeting, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, who were killed on the night of August 15, 1975, and all their family members, 3 million martyrs of the Liberation War, four national leaders and all the martyrs of the language movement paid deep respect to their memory.
At the end of the introductory session, the members and officials present in the meeting were informed about the overall activities of the departments and organizations under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the various activities undertaken regarding the upcoming Ramadan and Hajj through power point presentation.
The secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the heads of the departments and organizations under the respective ministries and the relevant officials of the National Parliament Secretariat were present in the meeting.
