Chennai has the highest number of corona vaccines in the state. Accordingly, in Chennai, 85 per cent people have been vaccinated with the first installment and 60 per cent with the second installment.
Officials said the target was achieved due to a series of mega vaccination camps run by the corporation. Accordingly, the vaccines provided by the Central Government are being paid by the State Government to the public.
The first corona vaccination campaign began on Jan. 16 this year. Initially, the public did not come forward to be vaccinated due to fears about the corona vaccine. Following this, camps were set up in the Corporation of Chennai, along with the Primary Health Centers, in the respective areas and vaccination work was started.
In this camp, 1.35 lakh more people were vaccinated on the same day than usual. Following the public interest in the mega vaccination camp, vaccination camps are being conducted all over Tamil Nadu. So far, 15 mega vaccination camps have been conducted in Chennai. Accordingly, as of yesterday, 47 lakh 21 thousand 815 people have been vaccinated with the first installment and 33 lakh 17 thousand 392 people have been vaccinated with the second installment.
Accordingly, 85 percent were vaccinated with the first dose and 60 percent with the second dose. In the state, Chennai has the highest number of second vaccinated districts. In this regard, Chennai Corporation officials said: 55 lakh 30 thousand 900 people are eligible for vaccination in Chennai Corporation. 28 lakh 32 thousand 532 people have been vaccinated in the second installment at the Corporation’s urban primary health centers.
Similarly, 6 lakh 82 thousand 95 first installments and 4 lakh 84 thousand 860 second installments have been given in private hospitals. Out of the total, 85 per cent, 73 per cent first installment and 60 per cent, 51 per cent second installment vaccination have been given on behalf of the corporation. Thus, they said. .
Each time, vaccination camps are held at 1,600 locations. At the state level, only 48.95 percent have been vaccinated in the second installment. However, in Chennai, 85 percent of the first installment and 60 percent of the second installment has been put.
