It’s been a ritual for around twenty years. Every three years, the Parisian Urban Planning Workshop (Apur), in partnership with the City of Paris and the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), carries out a survey of the capital’s businesses after a study with a fine-tooth comb, street by street. In 2023, 68,846 businesses (-1.4% compared to 2020) form the economic landscape of the City of Lights for a total of 185,000 employees, or 20% of Parisian employees.

Between the health crisis linked to Covid-19 and inflation, the past three years have given rise to an upheaval in business trends in Paris. Here are the consequences of these changes highlighted in the study, carried out on 6,500 Parisian streets between March and April.
