The coach died this Thursday at the age of 63 in his home in Val-d’Oise. News which caused a certain stir in Île-de-France. His personality has never left anyone indifferent.
His history remains closely linked to CS Ermont Taverny where he began coaching in the 2nd district division in 1989. He remained there until 2002 after bringing the club up to Regional 1 (formerly DH). In February 2002, he was appointed to Istres, then in L2, through Michel Moulin. An extremely rare trajectory for a coach from the amateur world who has never been able to pass his State Sports Educator Certificate (BEES).
He launched Ben Yedder
After having obtained two retentions with Istres, he returned to the Paris region at Red Star (2003-2004) taken over in R1 (ex DH) by Luis Fernandez then in Poissy (2004-2006) in N2 (CFA) under the presidency of Karl Olive . In 2009-2010, he brought the UJA (Armenian Youth Union, then in Alfortville) up for the first time in its history in National. During this season, he launched Wissam Ben Yedder, then aged 18 and from Futsal. After the signing of Ben Yedder in Toulouse, he will collaborate with the Haut-Garonnais club in recruitment in Île-de-France.
In the summer of 2010, he joined Racing, demoted to N3 (ex-CFA2) as general manager and coach. But during the season, he returned to coach UJA, while keeping his position at Racing. A double hat that had caused a lot of talk.
From 2013, he abandoned his duties as coach of Racing, relegated to R1 (DH) to devote himself solely to his role as general manager. He remained at Racing until 2018 and his takeover by Patrick Norbert. Since then, although he no longer held official positions in football, he devoted himself to individual coaching and recruitment missions.
