Former PS MP Julien Dray launches a movement, “Reinvent!”

by time news

Former socialist leader Julien Dray announces in Le Point to launch a movement, called “Reinvent! to “rewrite a social project” and bring out a new generation. “I have done enough for others by believing each time that I was going to influence them. I no longer believe in it and no one makes me want to influence him anymore, ”explains the former socialist deputy who inspired the series “Black Baron”.

“I decided not to waste my time in the internal battles of the Socialist Party, in the refoundations, in the combinations”, he specifies. Emphasizing that “today there are more ex-socialists outside the party than inside”, he said he wanted to work “with them” and set up a reflection movement, “Reinvent! “.

This movement is not a political party. “I am past the age of playing Lego. Assembling doesn’t interest me anymore. I want to work on the merits and with all goodwill, all Republicans. Everyone can even contribute ideas from Réinventez! in his political party. Our vocation is to rewrite a social project,” he insists.

Working with young people

At 67, he calls himself a “candidate for nothing”, even if Emmanuel Macron asked him to join the government if he were re-elected. ” It’s finish. (…) I am only looking for one thing, in which I have always believed: that of a successor”.

“Contrary to popular belief, young people are not disinterested in public life,” he explains. “It’s with them that I want to work, a bit like the big brother, or like those who used to be called the educators of the people. (…) Today I prefer to be a good old schoolteacher than ‘a black baron’.
