Kannur: A complaint has been lodged within the party against DYFI central committee member and CPM district committee member M. Shajar for taking benefits from gold smuggling gangs and leaking party decisions. District Secretariat member M. Surendran was assigned to investigate the complaint filed by CPM district committee member Manu Thomas. It is reported that Shajar and Manuthomas are investigating the complaint lodged a year ago when they were district officers of DYFI. After this matter came to light, District Secretary MV Jayarajan came forward with an explanation that there was no such complaint or investigation.
Shajar had preached in Tillankeri the other day that ‘Akash, stop everything here or you will know what this party is. We hate you more than we hate RSS.’ There is information that there is a complaint within the party against the leader who reacted strongly against Akash Tillankeri and his colleagues. Meanwhile, Akash Tillankeri posted on Facebook denying the news that he was in a relationship with Shajar after the incident became controversial. He was challenged to release the audio of his conversation with Shajar.
Earlier last year, DYFI had launched a campaign against gold smuggling-quotation gangs in the district. At that time there was a widespread campaign against Manu Thomas in the social media on behalf of Akash Tillankeri. It was like Manu was leaking party secrets to the media. Manu Thomas had filed a complaint with the party leadership while suspecting that Shajar had a hand in this scandal campaign. As proof of this, the audio clips of Akash Tillankeri and Shajar’s conversation were also given along with the complaint.
It was only when Manu raised this matter in the district committee in the recent discussion regarding the error correction document that the decision was taken to investigate and M.Surendran was assigned the task. But CPM district secretary MV Jayarajan is denying all this. The DYFI state secretariat said that the news implicating Shajar is baseless and should be rejected.
