Governor of Ayacucho bought a Rolex in 2023 just like the one Dina Boluarte has, but assures that he did not give it to her as a gift

Wilfredo Oscorima, the regional governor of Ayacucho, once again denied that it was he who gave a Rolex watch to the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, however, he confirmed that he did acquire one of these valuable objects in the year 2023, just with the same characteristics as those of the accessory that the president exhibited.

According to the statements he gave in an interview he gave for Cuarto Poder, a Sunday news program on América Televisión, the fact that he and Boluarte have the same model that combines silver with rose gold and diamond inlays on the numbers six and nine is just a coincidence.

This watch is a Rolex Date Day Just model, which costs US$14,000. “I acquired the watch last year (…) It may be the middle of the year, I don’t remember, but I made the purchase to give it to a very dear family member,” said the governor.

One of the luxury watches not declared by President Dina Boluarte would be a Rolex Date Day Just model in rose gold, an exclusive and “new” model, according to Peruvian collector MaggieMay.

However, he preferred not to give the identity of the relative to whom he gave the luxurious watch. Likewise, he stated that he did not know the code of the jewel, in addition to other exclusive data that proves the authenticity of the expensive accessory.

“They gave me a gift bag to give to the beneficiary and I went and gave it to her. (…) Nothing, it’s like if you go to a store you ask for it in a gift bag, they give it to you and you take it with you. They ask you: ‘Is it for a gift?’ ‘Yeah’; and that’s it.”

It turned out that Casa Banchero, the only jewelry store authorized to sell Rolex in the national territory, imported the watch in question in December 2022.

Wilfredo Oscorima, regional governor of Ayacucho.

In relation to the coincidence between the date on which it was revealed that Boluarte Zegarra used this type of watches and the day of his visit to the Government Palace, he clarified that the reason for the meeting with the Executive was to request the disbursement of a sports project in its jurisdiction.

“We need a budget to execute the great Ciudad de Cumaná sports project there. (Are the meetings basically for that project?) Basically for that project. This project is valued at approximately 367 million soles and has been validated by the Peruvian Sports Institute,” he insisted.

It should be noted that Oscorima considers himself a Rolex collector and a frequent customer of the exclusive Banchero House. “Of course, I have Rolex watches, I use Rolex. I love Rolex, and I repeat, before becoming a national authority I had Rolex. (Does it have many?) No, not much, two or three Rolexes, but I bought it, as I tell you, in those times,” he expressed to the aforementioned medium.

Finally, he emphasized that he has given gifts to former presidents, such as Pedro Castillo, Alan García, even Dina Boluarte, but that these were altarpieces, vicuña ponchos, cheeses or Ayacucho chaplas, but not a Rolex.

President Dina Boluarte’s collection of Rolex watches would exceed S/84,000 soles. Infobae composition.

Cuarto Poder also revealed that the president would have one more Rolex in her possession, apart from the three luxurious watches already accounted for. According to the Sunday newspaper, this would be from the ‘Cellini’ collection, valued at 14 thousand euros, according to the influencer and luxury goods specialist, Maggie May.

“When I saw those photographs, I thought it was a ‘1908’, which is a new watch that Rolex launched last year, in 2023. But I still have the doubt if it could be a ‘Cellini’, which is precisely the predecessor of this watch,” May said.
