This morning, Saturday, September 24, it was reported that rocks and sand fell from the cliff south of Apollonia National Park. This is an area beyond the barrier fence – in the forbidden area.
Fire and Rescue, Police, Coast Guard, Herzliya City Engineer – arrived at the scene with the Kfar Shmariahu rescue unit. A municipal fire truck arrived to assist the fire department and rescue if necessary.
The forces were prepared to provide assistance with equipment and people in case they were trapped. After a scan with police dogs, no signs of those trapped were found. A barrier fence was erected around the deterioration area and a warning sign was posted. A police officer and inspectors from the Herzliya Beaches Authority are present at the scene. This is a beach area where bathing is prohibited.
