Let’s planta youth volunteer movement that organizes reforestation, is inviting Guatemalans to sponsor trees to reforest the Agua volcano.

There are many ways to help, whether by sponsoring, joining the reforestations or volunteering on one of the commissions that will be directing the activities. We’ll tell you more!

Activities to help in the reforestation of the Agua volcano

Behind the forest fire that affected the Agua volcano In February, Plantemos has taken the initiative to restore the ecological balance of the volcano and protect its rich biodiversity through a reforestation project.

While reforestation at Volcán de Agua is scheduled to begin in June due to an assessment of the area, Plantemos is already accepting donations to sponsor trees. In this joint effort, the organization offers donors the opportunity to contribute to the reforestation process and help restore the volcano’s forests.

Among the species that will be planted in the Agua Volcano are pines, cypresses, oaks, loquats and, particularly, alders. These species are especially valuable in ecosystem restoration after forest fires, and their presence is crucial for the recovery of the affected area.

Details of the project to sponsor trees

The program consists of a donation of Q 30.00 per month for one year to sponsor 25 trees, which will be planted in the different reforestation points carried out.

The donation to sponsor a tree includes several fundamental aspects for the success of the project. This financial support will cover the cost of the water necessary for reforestation, as well as transportation to the Plantemos nursery, located in San Martín Jilotepeque.

In addition, the funds will contribute to the monitoring and maintenance of the planted trees, guaranteeing their long-term health and growth.

By making your donation you will be receiving reports on the progress of your trees and you will be able to see how they are growing.
