Romanian Simona Halep, winner of the event in 2015, qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells on Wednesday, beating Croatian Petra Martic (79th) very easily 6-1, 6-1 . The former world number 1, now 26th in the standings, is gaining momentum. Very offensive, she had her best match of the tournament and settled the case in just 55 minutes, against an opponent who was never in the game and seemed tired.
The 30-year-old Roland-Garros (2018) and Wimbledon (2019) winner will play against the Polish Iga Swiatek (4th in the world) or the American Madison Keys (29th).
