Started in a climate of high tension on Saturday, with incidents between supporters of the two clubs before kick-off, including exchanges of objects and insults (some racist), the match between Ajaccio and OM (1 -0) turned into a nightmare for a young Olympian fan. Suffering from brain cancer, Kenzo, 8, had come to attend the François-Coty stadium for his club’s last meeting of the season.

Invited with his family to attend the meeting in the lodge, the little supporter and his father were first separated by about fifteen Corsican supporters, relates RTL. The little boy then had his OM jersey ripped off and then burned in front of him. His father, he received several blows.

“Can’t you see that it’s a sick child, a child who has cancer”

The day after the attack on her son, her mother Amandine returned to RTL on this deplorable incident. “From the stadium, we see young people coming up and pointing at us. Me, I was on the stairs, I had to go down to get a document and they forced the passage, she says. I shouted at them: ”Can’t you see that it’s a sick child, a child with cancer, leave them”. The gentleman looked at me, he pushed me and he went anyway. They went up to I don’t know how many, a good ten. My little one jumped into the next door, through the barrier. Kenzo was pushed onto the barrier at the level of the armchairs. He slapped his face and my husband took two punches in the face. »

The little boy then had his OM jersey ripped off and then burned in front of him. “Once they burned the jersey, they shouted, ‘We’ve burned you, son of a bitch.’ Afterwards, they were very imposing and they even spat in the food. My son was taken care of urgently, he was shocked, he had trouble recovering, his eyes all red with a swollen face. He was crying and he was shaking and he couldn’t breathe. In fact, we would never have thought that we were attacking a child, what. »

“Even the most extreme stupidity cannot excuse this behavior! »

The Ajaccio club condemned this attack and will file a complaint as soon as the individuals are clearly identified. The parents are thinking of filing a complaint but are currently afraid of reprisals. “These individuals in no way represent the values of our club and our island. Even the most extreme stupidity cannot excuse these behaviors! The club strongly condemns these unspeakable acts! (…) AC Ajaccio is in solidarity with little Kenzo and his parents,” the ACA said in a press release.

Friday, incidents had already opposed supporters, in particular near a hotel where Marseillais were housed. They had four minor injuries. The mayor of the city, Stéphane Sbraggia, had asked Friday evening for the cancellation of the match so that the supporters, most of whom were due to arrive on Saturday, did not “expose themselves to a risk of violence which is already present and which could take a uncontrollable extent”.
