Melbourne: The Indian pace team is under a lot of pressure due to poor bowling in the Asia Cup and the first T20I against Australia. Concession of runs in pace death overs is crucial in India’s defeats. Meanwhile, former Aussie captain Ricky Ponting has come out with a big prediction about Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
Bumrah, who recovered from injury, is in the Indian squad for the World Cup but has yet to play competitive cricket. But Ponting predicts that Bumrah will perform better than Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi in the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia next month. Afridi has also recovered from injury and returned to the team. Ponting said in the ICC Monthly Review that Bumrah’s experience in Australia will help Bumrah overcome Afridi.

Bumrak also has the experience of playing in bigger tournaments than Afridi. Ponting also said that England captain Jos Buttler is a different batsman than Pakistan captain Babar Azam in T20 cricket.

Babar is technically superior to Buttler. But if the strike rate in T20 cricket is taken, no comparison is possible between the two. Butler is somewhat of a 360-degree player. Ponting also stated that because of his experience of playing in the Big Bash League and Australia, Buttler may be able to show excellence over Babar in the World Cup.
