Former national team captain Dilip Tirgi was on Friday unopposed as the president of the Indian Hockey Association.

The organization’s polls were scheduled to be held on October 1, and the results were announced immediately after no one contested the incumbents.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh hockey captain Rakesh Kattyal and Jharkhand hockey captain Polanath Singh had filed nominations for the post of president to compete with Tirgi. However, Tirgi became the chairman after they withdrew their petition on Friday.

Polanath as General Secretary, Asima Ali of Jammu and Kashmir Hockey, Subramania Gupta of Karnataka as Vice Presidents, Shek J. Manokaran of Tamil Nadu Hockey as Treasurer, Aarti Singh of Rajasthan and Sunil Malik of Haryana as Joint Secretaries.

Arunkumar Saraswat (Rajasthan), Asrita Lagra (Jharkhand), Gurupreet Kaur (Delhi), Sunil Kumar (Kerala), Dapankumar Das (Assam) were the members of the management committee.

The International Hockey Federation also approved their appointments.
