Football expert Sergey Nagornyak believes that Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan should win the best European championship in the summer.
“I think today Henrikh is the best football player of Ukraine. He scored 14 goals in 11 games, but that’s not the point. The Armenian football player works on the field for Shakhtar, not for increasing his number of goals. He is an extremely team player.
It is already the third season that Mkhitaryan is playing for “Shakhtar”. To be honest, I didn’t expect him to play at such a high level. And it has several reasons. A qualified specialist saw talent in him and trusts him. Mkhitaryan also works well with the Brazilians because he is also technically literate. Judson left and a place opened up for an attacking midfielder. But the main thing is that Mkhitaryan is very demanding of himself. It is noticeable that he constantly wants to improve.
I respect “Shakhtar” because it is a European level team. But the Donetsk team plays in the Ukrainian championship, which is not the strongest in Europe. In order to fully reveal his potential, Henrich needs to move to one of the strongest European leagues. And he should do it after the end of this season, in the coming summer.
