BIG MAINTENANCE – In his first novel “Les Chiffons bleus”, the former third-line recounts his experience in a hospital during the first confinement. For Le Figarohe evokes this moment that marked him and he also looks back on his rich career.
A career started late but, in the end, very full. Passed in particular by Béziers, Massy, Stade Français and Carcassonne, Bakary Meïté hung up his crampons at the end of last season, at the age of 37. During the troubled period of the Covid, the solid third-line took advantage of the cessation of competitions to lend a hand to the Sainte-Périne hospital, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, as a maintenance worker. An experience he recounts in his first novel, The Blue Cloths, Editions du Seuil. For Le Figaro, he talks at length about this experience, light years away from the world of rugby.
