How Inter and Milan come out of the 48 hours that have overwhelmed football (and who won’t leave it the same as before)? With a little broken bones. And perhaps even a bit divided internally if it is true that Paolo Maldini, Milan manager, tried to come out immaculate on the microphones of Sky before the match against Sassuolo: I would like to specify that I have never been involved in discussions on the Super League. I heard about this thing on a higher executive level Sunday night. But that doesn’t exempt me from apologizing to the fans, who felt betrayed in the fundamental principles of sport that we have always respected at Milan. But the question of funds remains decisive. Now for what shipwrecked under a tide of (right) indignation, at Inter and Milan the problems remain.
In the last three years Elliott has injected 400 million into Milan, Inter has 600 million in debts. Salaries are 65-70%, no company can survive like this, remembers Marotta. There are two ways: to increase revenues, no longer with the money of the Super League, but perhaps with the troubled stadium project. On this, the two clubs have proposed to Mayor Sala to go ahead, giving the Municipality the opportunity to check the financial status of the clubs from now to construction (in the meantime, Inter’s corporate structures will be defined). The other cut costs: it means making sacrifices (for example, a current of thought at Milan does not see favorably the increases in salaries requested by Donnarumma and Calhanoglu, with whom the negotiations however continue). This is why the two clubs agree to start a discussion on rules such as the salary cap. A new game starts today.
