TRENTO. The Financial Police reported the owners of the businesses to the Public Prosecutor’s Office two copy shops in Trento who resold complete reproductions of university texts. Overall, the military seized copies of 1,593 texts, of which 43 in paper format and 1,550 in pdf format.

The control – we learn – took place as part of the prevention and repression of the phenomenon of counterfeiting and illicit reprography (the illegal copying of editorial works) and was carried out together with the officials of Italian Society of Authors and Publishers (Siae) of Rome.

Inside the two copy shops, the texts (both in paper and computer format) were reproduced and resold in full, and were already prepared for sale at remarkably competitive prices. In addition to the complaint from the owners, a complaint is also foreseen for illicit reproduction financial penalty equal to double the unit cost of each copied volume.
