Against the backdrop of the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, American troops stationed in the region have been attacked at least 76 times in the last 1.5-2 months, The Washington Post reported, referring to data published by the Pentagon.
According to these data, the first attack was launched on October 17, and after that, attacks by missiles and UAVs against American military bases and troops stationed in Iraq and Syria occur almost every day.
It should be noted that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also expressed his concern in this regard. Two days ago, in a telephone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, Blinken urged to ensure the safety of the American troops stationed there.
Blinken called on the Iraqi government to “fulfill its obligations and protect all facilities where American servicemen are stationed, as well as hold accountable those who attacked them.”
