Sensors worked in the mine, registering an increase in temperature and the release of carbon monoxide. According to the plan of liquidation of the accident, mining operations were suspended, and departments of mine rescuers left for the enterprise. The shift miners began to be brought to the surface. 128 people worked in the face, all of them were evacuated under the control of dispatchers, no one needed medical help.
Initially, it was about a fire, then the press service of the owner of the mine – the company “SUEK-Kuzbass” – clarified that, in fact, no fire was seen in the face. According to preliminary data, self-overheating of the coal seam occurred in the idle adit. Because of this, CO (carbon monoxide) was released.
The Deputy Prosecutor of the Kemerovo Region Mikhail Filichev, the Prosecutor of Leninsk-Kuznetskiy Aleksey Mishin and the Kemerovo Interdistrict Prosecutor for Supervision of the Execution of Laws in the Coal Mining Industry Evgeny Sharafutdinov drove to the scene.
– Organized verification of compliance with legislation on labor protection and industrial safety. If violations are identified, a set of response measures will be taken to eliminate them, – said the senior assistant to the regional prosecutor for interaction with the media Elena Tushkevich.
I must say that the coal prosecutor’s office had previously identified violations at this enterprise. So, in August 2019, an audit showed that the mine is understaffed, not everyone is familiar with the accident liquidation plan, the number of the labor protection service does not correspond to the calculated one, the work and rest regimes are not observed, not everyone undergoes initial instruction on labor protection. Then the company was fined, the director was made a presentation, and the responsible officials were reprimanded.
