Former Pakistan player Shoaib Akhtar has slammed the Indian team for not being fit to meet Pakistan in the final at the Melbourne Stadium and that Indian cricket is in a bad state at the moment.
Shoaib Akhtar has mentioned that there is no aggressive attitude towards the bowlers, there is no plan against England, and the reason for India’s exit from the World Cup is bad bowling, and the entire responsibility lies with the captain and the Indian team management.
Slamming India’s 10-wicket loss to England in the second semi-final of the 2022 T20 World Cup, Akhtar said, “India don’t deserve to meet Pakistan in the final at the MCG or even fly to Melbourne because the quality of their cricket has been exposed today. Getting to the semi-finals is no big deal. I think Indian cricket is in a very bad state right now. India should look at their captaincy and the management should take full responsibility for this,” he said.
Also, starting with the selection of Mohammed Shami in the team and excluding Yuzvendra Chahal, he has attacked India’s bowling, “Suddenly they have included Shami in the team, he is a good fast bowler, but he does not deserve to be in the T20 team. When England spinner Adil Rashid played, why not Chahal?” He questioned.
And England, who knew that India didn’t have the pace to match a flat pitch, won easily. Indian bowlers rely on pitches to bowl well. Otherwise they have no aggressive approach and no plan, he said.
He said that the Indian team needs to make many changes and said that the Indian team can start the T20 cricket captaincy from Hardik Pandya.
