The baby was brutally murdered by his grandmother’s friend in a hotel room in Kaloor on Wednesday. Sipsi said police found out that his friend Binoy had drowned the child in a bucket and that he had killed the child out of resentment towards him.

The baby’s mother, who works abroad, was left to look after her grandmother. Grandmother and boyfriend booked a room in a hotel last week. The boy died at the hospital at night after vomiting. The police have registered a case of unnatural death based on the information provided by the hospital authorities.

The post-mortem report revealed that the child’s death was a homicide. With this, the police called the child’s grandmother and boyfriend and questioned them.
