Gosau.

A family of four from the Braunau am Inn district spent a day of skiing in the Dachstein West ski area on January 7, 2022. At around 11:30 a.m., the family took the Hochkögl slope 9c from Gosau. In front of the 43-year-old father, a ten-year-old boy was skiing downhill on his skis. After the father drove faster, he wanted to drive past the child on the left. At this point the boy swerved to the left, collided with the man and ran over his skis, causing him to fall. The 43-year-old was able to hold on to his skis for a few meters until his ski bindings opened, he fell and came to rest on the left edge of the piste. The injured’s relatives immediately provided first aid. The boy’s mother talked about the incident with the family, but then left the site with her child without exchanging personal details. Several skiers noticed the accident, drove off quickly and notified the piste rescue service at the valley station. They took the man using Ski-Doo and transported him to the valley, where he was handed over to the Red Cross, who took him to the hospital, according to the police.

The police asked the boy’s mother with a high German accent to contact the Bad Goisern police on +43 (0) 59 133 4102 regarding the injury and the situation.
