Actor Tanuj Virwani is continuously being appreciated for his film ‘Yodha’ and he is getting a lot of love. His success story is one of never-ending passion, discipline and persistent efforts. Over the years, he has risen like a phoenix and has proven his worth and reliability time and again on the big stage, where it matters most. Your role in ‘Yoddha’ was very good, don’t you think you got very less screen time?
Whenever I sign a project, I pay less attention to how much time I get in the role. I rather see how he is taking the story forward. That is very important for me. It felt important for me to play the same role in Yoddha also.
There were a lot of action scenes in the film, but you did not get to see them, what would you say on this?
Characters will take part in the action according to the story. I already knew that my action scenes are not in it because I am a ground commander. So all the action, all the dialogues took place inside my office and the action that was taking place was inside the flight. So it is not that I got any surprise from my role.

How did you feel working with Sidharth Malhotra, tell about your experience on the set.
It was great working with Sid. He is very kind. He is quite short and a very professional actor. He is good with all the people on the set. They are the ones who always want to keep learning something new. He did all the action scenes himself. Did not take help of any body double.
You have done films like ‘Puraani Jeans’, it has been so many years in the industry, still you are not getting lead roles like that, what could be the reason?
When you become a lead actor, the entire responsibility of the film falls on your shoulders. My two films have not worked before, so I am not getting that kind of work. At that time I decided that I would also work in web series. I played very strong characters in so many different shows. I want to entertain my people in every way. For the last 6-7 years till now, I have focused more on OTT.

You are a star kid and also the son of Rati Agnihotri, is it an advantage or a disadvantage?
For any star kid, when you step into the industry, there is a lot of responsibility on your shoulders. You get work because of your parents. But after that if you do not do anything good then no one can save you. After that you grow only on your talent, your dedication and work. It also has some disadvantages. People think that you will do wonders in your first film, which your parents did in their 10th film. That becomes very difficult. You have to prove yourself.
You have done excellent work in the films you have done, are you satisfied with your own work?
I am very blessed that I have got good opportunities. Be it in web series or films, when you are satisfied, that hunger inside you goes away. That’s why I’m always hungry. I want to do better work. I am working on my process and the results will emerge sooner or later.

Did your mother ever give you any advice on how to face bad times?
Mother always explains that no matter how dark the night is, morning always comes. You don’t have to see what’s happening with others in their careers. You always look at yourself. Mother always explains this to me, so I pay less attention to the result and more to the process.
Would you like to share any childhood story with your mother, have you ever gone to a film set with her?
When her mother got married, she took exile from films. He left films for 16 years. It was only when I turned 15 that she returned to films. After that he went to the sets of many of his films. Once she was shooting for Krishna Cottage and I got scared after seeing her in makeup. I had never seen him like this from the front.

You got married recently, how is your married life?
By the grace of God the marriage is going very well. Only three months have passed, everything is very good. When you are short in life and you know that you have chosen the right person, then everything is good.

How are your upcoming projects and which ones are they?
After Yoddha I am going to come to Splitsvilla 15. Will host it with Sunny Leone. Then I will do a web series with KK Menon. Then I will also be seen in an OTT film.
