Introducing the OPPO Watch X: A Long-lasting Smart Wear OS Watch with Snapdragon W5 Chip

The OPPO Watch X arrives as a rebranding of the watchOnePlus Watch 2 which was announced earlier this month, which should not surprise users too much in light of the fact that the two brands belong to the Chinese BBK corporation Merge back in 2021but OnePlus has not introduced new smartwatches for a long time, unlike Oppo with the family of watchesOPPO Watch. The OnePlus watch, by the way, will be launched in Israel starting March 7 at a price of about NIS 1,300.

The new watch comes with a stainless steel body with the same diameter of 47 mm, which includes a watch crown in the upper right part and a physical button in the lower right part, along with a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen that comes with a resolution of 466×466, a maximum brightness of up to 1000 nits and 2.5D sapphire glass coating for increased durability.

On paper, the only practical difference between the OPPO Watch X and the OnePlus Watch 2 is their color. While OPPO’s watch comes in brown (Mars Brown) or black (Platinum Black), the One Plus version is available in silver (Radient Steel) and black (Black Steel).

Apart from that, the OPPO watch comes with the same water resistance to a depth of 50 meters (5ATM), protection against water and dust in the IP68 standard and the MIL-STD-810H durability standard of the US Army.

Under its cover you can find the platformSnapdragon W5 of Qualcomm, which comes with 2GB of memory and 32GB of storage, designed to run theWearOS of Google, and another cost-effective BES 2700 chip, designed to replace the W5 in various functions, such as sleep and heart rate monitoring for battery saving or to run the dedicated and closed RTOS system in saving mode.

The most important feature that remains the same between the two models is the long battery life of the watch, which according to the company is up to 100 hours of use in smart watch mode or up to 12 days of use in battery saving mode.

The watch also supports fast VOOC charging with a power of 7.5W, which provides a full day of use with only 10 minutes of charging.

The new OPPO Watch X is available for sale in Malaysia at a price of 1399 Malaysian Ringgit (~1050 NIS).
