IPL 2022: Ravi Shastri lashes out at BCCI

Mumbai: With just days to go before the start of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), former India coach Ravi Shastri has hit out at the BCCI. Ravi Shastri said that he had to stay away from the commentary due to the foolish decisions of the board. Shastri returns to the commentary box seven years later.

Ravi Shastri was banned by the BCCI from being a commentator in the IPL when he was the head coach of the Indian team. This is what Shastri has been sharply criticizing now. Ravi Shastri joins IPL as part of Star Sports’ Hindi commentary team, the official broadcaster of the IPL. Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina will also be in the Hindi commentary team.

IPL Hindi Commentators: Akash Chopra, Irfan Pathan, Parthiv Patel, Nikhil Chopra, Tanya Purohit, Kiran More, Jatin Sapru, Suran Surendran, Ravi Shastri and Suresh Raina. English commentators are paid around Rs 1 crore. Hindi commentators will be paid up to Rs 60 lakh.
