The National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament is developing a bill to conclude a “Pact of Resistance” with a number of countries and “liberation movements” in the Middle East, which provides for the provision of military and economic assistance in the event of an attack by the United States or Israel on one of the parties to the pact, reports Day.Az with reference to TASS.

According to the Tasnim agency, the agreement involves the creation of an operational headquarters to coordinate military operations and conduct exercises. It is proposed that responsibility for the division of responsibilities and implementation of the plan be assigned to the Supreme National Security Council of Iran.

According to the developers of the bill, the Iranian Security Council will consider applications to join the “Pact of Resistance.” The agreement is aimed at providing mutual assistance in crisis situations and creating a unified military infrastructure to counter threats from Israel and Western countries, the agency clarifies. The bill is planned to be submitted to parliament after its finalization.

Tehran counts among its regional allies and calls the “Axis of Resistance” the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, the Palestinian radical group Hamas, the Yemeni rebel Houthi movement Ansar Allah and the Islamic Resistance of Iraq.
