Iran proposes to collect and evaluate economic data from BRICS member countries.

According to Day.Az, the President of Iran said this today Masud Pezeshkian at the BRICS summit in Kazan.

According to him, increasing investment and trade between member countries is of great importance. The success or failure of decisions taken to increase investment and trade volume can be assessed annually and kept under review.

Pezeshkian said that each BRICS member country can consider the development of other members as its own development and consider mutual cooperation and healthy competition as the main axis between member countries.

“Iran will make efforts to reform the BRICS economic structure and create alternative opportunities for economic development,” he said.

It should be noted that BRICS is an intergovernmental organization created in 2006. Russia assumed the chairmanship of BRICS on January 1, 2024. Currently, members of the organization, in addition to Russia, are Brazil, India, China and South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Let us note that Iran proposes to create a small and responsive secretariat to implement various programs within the BRICS framework.
