“When I saw the plane crashing, I rushed into the field to try to save the passengers, but it had already burst into flames. Everything happened extremely quickly, there was nothing to do”, regrets Daniel, a retiree who lives in an old farmhouse adjoining the site of the crash of the tourist plane which claimed the lives of five people, this Saturday, in Adrets (Isère), barely 50 meters away. It was he who lent his ladder to the gendarmes so that they could go and recover the wings of the aircraft stuck at the top of the trees. “Only the cockpit remains on the ground,” laments Daniel.
