The Israeli military and the General Security Service continue operations and raids on the territory of the Al-Shifa medical center in the Gaza Strip. “IDF troops detained approximately 480 militants associated with the terrorist organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad and discovered weapons and terrorist infrastructure in the hospital,” the statement said.
The press service also noted that the Israeli Air Force attacked 65 targets in the north and central part of the Palestinian enclave, including a tunnel used by militants. Israeli forces also attacked terrorist infrastructure in the Beit Hanoun area.
In the central regions of the Gaza Strip, the military discovered a “drone production complex belonging to terrorist organizations.” The army carried out an operation at a military facility and eliminated the militants.
In addition, Israeli engineering units hit a launch facility in the south of the Gaza Strip. In the Khan Yunis area, the Israeli Air Force attacked a militant gathering place when a large number of terrorists were there.
The situation in the Middle East sharply worsened after the infiltration of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, which was accompanied by the killing of residents of border settlements and the taking of more than 240 hostages. Radicals called this attack a response to the actions of the Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.
