It has been reported that Jayaraj, a government hospital nurse, testified in court that Jayaraj was in excruciating pain when he was attacked by the police in the Sathankulam father-son murder case.
Jayaraj, a businessman from Satankulam, and his son Phoenix were killed in a police raid in 2020, when they were taken away for questioning. The CBI has filed a chargesheet against nine persons, including police inspector Sridhar.
When the case came up for hearing in the Madurai District First Additional Court, Kovilpatti Government Hospital nurse Arunachala Perumal testified. When Jayaraj was brought to the government hospital from the Kovilpatti branch jail, the nurse testified that he had a bruise all over his body and had fitted an artificial urethra as he was too injured to urinate.
