Ivan Toney: «If Brentford want to sell me, they make money and I’ll go to Real Madrid» – Brentford

Ivan Toney has been in the spotlight since returning to the competition with four goals scored in nine games and was called up by coach Gareth Southgate for the English team’s friendly games against Brazil and Belgium. The Brentford striker gave an interview to ‘Sky Sports’ showing himself ambitious when asked to create the perfect scenario for the end of the season.

“I scored 20 goals, we won the nine remaining games until the end of the season and we didn’t concede a single goal. I want to be in the squad for the European Championship and win the competition”, he said.

The 28-year-old footballer, whose contract ends until 2025, addressed his future and admitted that he is ready to take the leap to a higher level in the summer, toying with a possible transfer to Real Madrid.

“If things go well and Brentford want to sell me, they make money, I’ll go to Real Madrid and everything would be perfect”, said the English striker.

Last February, coach Thomas Frank had already anticipated the possibility of the player being transferred in the summer, in a press conference for the Danish media.

“It’s obvious that Ivan Toney could probably be sold in the summer. We know his value. I don’t think there are many strikers in the world who are better than him at the moment. He is a very skilled striker who is at the peak of his form. Personally As a coach, I would prefer to keep Toney, but one day it could be fun to see him in a top team,” he said.

Remember that Ivan Toney was suspended for eight months for involvement in sports betting and returned to the competition on January 24th, in a victory for Brentford against Nottingham Forest, under Nuno Espírito Santo, for 3-2a match in which he scored a goal.
