During a panel of discussions, Beninese women identified the obstacles to their presence in politics as well as solution approaches to move forward in this area.
On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Microfinance in collaboration with the National Institute for Women (INF) organized the first edition of the National Forum on investments for the benefit of woman and gender. The event which was held on March 7 and 8, 2024 in Cotonou allowed several reflections to be carried out through communications and discussion panels on the issue of women.
As such, the presence of women in politics was the subject of a panel discussion on the theme: “Investment in women in politics: how to accelerate?”. The discussion moderated by Léontine Idohou, president of Rifonga Benin, was attended by several other women leaders.
