There’s already a trailer for Tim Burton’s new “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”
The sequel to the first film, which premiered in 1988, opens in September. This Thursday the first images were released.
The trailer has finally arrived.
Thinking about Tim Burton is to associate it with fantasy, eccentricity and a gothic and dark touch. “The wait is almost over”, wrote the director on February 1, when he announced the release date of the second film of “Beetlejuice”, the sequel to the 1988 classic. More than 30 years later, the famous horror comedy is preparing to return to the big screen — certainly, full of the usual characteristics of its productions.
After confirmation from Burton and Warner Bros for the feature film to hit theaters on September 6, 2024, all that was left was to wait for the trailer. And here he is.
The cast confirms the return of Catherine O’Hara, Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder in the main roles. “Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega”, will also be part of the project, playing the daughter of Lydia, the character played by Winona Ryder in the original story.
The first film tells the story of a couple — Barbara and Adam Maitland — who live in an idyllic country house in Connecticut. One day, on a car trip, they suffer a fatal accident, which transforms them into spirits.
In their home, they find a book titled “manual for the recently deceased” and realize that this was their destiny, being now trapped like souls haunting their former home. The ghosts try to get rid of the new residents in their house, but without success, until they decide to hire the evil Beetlejuice to help them expel the new residents.
In Portugal, the title chosen for the original film was “The Ghosts Have Fun” and it became a box office success in 1988. Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, Jeffrey Jones and Catherine O’Hara were other names in the cast.
