‘Jail’ is a film directed by Vasantha Balan and starring GV Prakash, Aparnanithi and Radhika Sarathkumar. The film is produced by Sreedharan Maridasan of Craigs Cine Creations.
As the crew was planning to release the film on December 9, a lawsuit was filed in the Chennai High Court on behalf of Studio Green seeking an injunction against its release.
The petition, filed on behalf of Studio Green, alleges that Jail has contracted to distribute the entire distribution rights to the film, which is currently being tried for illegal release.
When the case came up for hearing, the production company said that Studio Green had not been granted any patent and had contracted with them on a commission basis only to introduce themselves to distributors who were qualified to release the film.
After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge Senthilkumar Ramamurthy adjourned the case till December 9. Will the film be released depending on the verdict that day? Not released? Is revealed.
